Travel Med-Surg / Step-Down RN (Flex Pool) | Day Shift | Hawaii

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment in a Flex Pool role, supporting multiple units including medical, surgical, and step-down care settings.

Assignment Details:
Location: Hawaii
Shift: Days (12-hour shifts, 06:45 AM – 07:15 PM)
Schedule: 36 hours/week after orientation
Engagement Type: Travel contract

Key Responsibilities:
Provide patient care across medical, surgical, and step-down units
Float between assigned units based on patient care needs
Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
Operate equipment such as wound vacs and chest tubes
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care
Maintain accurate documentation using EMR systems

Clinical Scope:
Flex pool role covering multiple units including medical, surgical acute, and occasional cardiovascular care
Exposure to varying patient acuity levels depending on unit assignment
Support patient care needs across departments as required

Requirements (Must-Have):
Active Hawaii RN License (must be obtained prior to start)
Minimum 2 years of RN experience (Med-Surg/Step-Down preferred)
BLS certification required

Preferred Qualifications:
ACLS certification
PALS, TNCC, ENPC, or Procedural Sedation (preferred but not required)

Floating:
Required to float between medical, surgical acute, and occasional cardiovascular units

Work Environment:
Acute care hospital setting with multiple unit exposure

Patient Ratios:
Medical Unit: 1:6 (days/evenings)
Surgical Acute: 1:6
Cardiovascular Unit: 1:4
(Ratios may vary based on census and staffing needs)

Compliance:
Proof of immunizations required (no exemptions accepted)
Pre-employment health screening required prior to start
Must be available to complete onboarding requirements before assignment start date
