Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg

Location: Gardner, MA
Facility: Heywood Hospital
Unit: Watkins 2 – Adult Med/Surg
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Evenings (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM)
Schedule: 32 Hours/Week
Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend

Job Summary

Heywood Hospital is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN to provide high-quality patient care in an acute care setting. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult Med/Surg patients.
Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments.
Monitor patient conditions and report changes promptly.
Interpret and document telemetry findings as appropriate.
Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.
Maintain accurate documentation in Meditech EMR.
Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care.
Requirements
Active Massachusetts RN License.
BLS Certification required.
ACLS required upon hire or within 60 days.
Minimum 1 year of RN experience.
Med/Surg experience preferred.
Telemetry experience preferred.
Meditech experience preferred.
