Medical Oncology RN | 13-Week Contract | Day Shift

Overview
Seeking an experienced Medical Oncology Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care in an outpatient oncology setting. The RN will independently administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and injections while ensuring safe handling of hazardous medications and strict adherence to oncology protocols.

This role requires strong clinical judgment, patient education expertise, and the ability to manage complex cancer care treatments in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Key Details

Contract: 13 weeks
Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (Day Shift)
EMR: Epic
No call
Holiday coverage required

Requirements

Minimum 3 years Oncology RN experience
Active RN license in good standing
Oncology experience required (chemo administration strongly preferred)
BLS certification required
Epic EMR proficiency required

Clinical Responsibilities

Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, hormonal, and non-hormonal therapies
Access and manage ports, PICC lines, and Hickman catheters
Perform venipuncture, lab draws, and sterile dressing changes
Verify informed consent prior to chemotherapy administration
Monitor patient response and document treatments accurately in Epic
Provide education to patients and families on treatment plans, side effects, nutrition, and disease process
Identify complications and escalate care appropriately
Ensure safe handling, administration, and disposal of hazardous drugs per protocol
Maintain compliance with infection control and oncology safety standards

Patterns Hiring Job ID #296122. Pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
