Four 10-hour shifts weekly
Monday & Tuesday: 12:00 PM – 10:30 PM
Thursday & Friday: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Rotating on-call weekends: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Position Overview
Heywood Hospital is seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist for an urgent 13-week contract assignment. The Ultrasound Tech will perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound procedures including general abdominal, OB, and small parts imaging while ensuring high-quality patient care and diagnostic accuracy.
The ideal candidate will be confident working independently, able to manage patient flow efficiently, and committed to producing high-quality diagnostic images in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Responsibilities
Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations including abdominal, OB, breast, and small parts studies
Operate ultrasound imaging equipment and adjust technical settings for optimal image quality
Review physician orders and confirm appropriate imaging procedures
Explain procedures to patients and provide compassionate patient care
Position patients appropriately for imaging studies
Ensure all imaging includes required measurements, anatomical markers, and demographic information
Maintain accurate documentation and imaging records within Meditech EMR
Coordinate workflow and prioritize exams efficiently
Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare teams regarding imaging findings
Maintain patient safety and infection control standards at all times
Participate in rotating weekend and holiday call coverage
Requirements
Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technology or Radiologic Technology program
ARDMS Certification required:
ARDMS (AB)
ARDMS (BR)
ARDMS (OB)
Current AHA BLS Certification required
Active state license required
Previous ultrasound experience preferred
Strong technical and patient care skills
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
