Description
Required Current and Active Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact license.
Required Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Required Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (Upon hire).
Current Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification (Upon hire).
Current STABLE certification (Upon hire).
Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (Upon hire).
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
Experience Required:
Two (2) years hospital nursing experience.
One (1) year Emergency Department (ED) or Critical Care Nursing experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must be at least 18 years of age (21 years of age for positions requiring driving, with a valid driver’s license).
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must successfully pass a background check.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable).
• Must complete an Employee Health meeting prior to starting employment.
Poisition Purpose: To coordinate and implement an individualized plan of care for each patient using the nursing process, practicing within their scope, standards, policies, values, and mission of the organization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
• Requires prioritization and critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
• Complies with triage, treatment, evaluation, and documentation guidelines.
• Uses evidence-based practices and competence to collaborate with the healthcare team to provide quality outcomes and coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Identifies barriers to effective communication based on psychosocial, literacy, financial, and cultural considerations.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstance.
• Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires.
• Practice according to professional and ethical standards as noted in the ANA Code of Ethics and Colorado State Nurse Practice Act.
• Demonstrates caring attitudes and behaviors to develop therapeutic relationships and engage in patient and family teaching as appropriate

• Reports to work punctually and completes assigned duties within established timeframes.
• Actively contributes to departmental and organization-wide performance improvement and continuous quality initiatives.
• Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, maintaining adherence to departmental, hospital, state, and federal standards and policies.
• Follows all infection control, safety, and risk management procedures to maintain a safe environment for patients, the public, and staff.
