Position Overview

Mary Immaculate Health Care Services is seeking an experienced Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for a 13-week contract assignment. The SLP will work closely with residents, caregivers, physicians, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to evaluate and treat communication, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing disorders.

The ideal candidate will have experience in long-term care or skilled nursing settings and be comfortable managing dysphagia evaluations, modified barium swallow studies, speech and language disorders, and cognitive rehabilitation programs.

Key Responsibilities
Evaluate residents with speech, language, cognitive, communication, and swallowing disorders.
Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable short- and long-term goals.
Provide therapy for:
Speech Disorders
Language Disorders
Cognitive-Communication Deficits
Dysphagia/Swallowing Disorders
Perform and interpret Modified Barium Swallow evaluations.
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, rehabilitation professionals, residents, and families.
Recommend communication and swallowing assistive devices when appropriate.
Provide education to residents, families, and caregivers.
Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences and discharge planning.
Maintain timely and accurate documentation.
Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and reimbursement guidelines.
Assist with development of speech therapy programs and staff education initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Education
Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
Licensure & Certifications
Active Massachusetts Speech Language Pathologist License required.
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) required.
BLS Certification preferred.
Experience
Minimum 3 years of Speech Language Pathologist experience.
Experience in:
Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF)
Long-Term Care (LTC)
Dysphagia Management
Modified Barium Swallow Studies
Experience with geriatric patient populations preferred.

Candidate Requirements
Active Massachusetts SLP License
CCC-SLP Certification
Minimum 3 years experience
SNF/LTC experience preferred
Ability to work independently
Strong swallowing and communication therapy background
Eligible to work 40 hours per week
