Description

Registered Nurse – Emergency Department
Location: Athol, MA
Specialty: Emergency Department
Contract: 13 weeks
Start Date: 9/15/2026
Shift: 12:00 PM–12:00 AM
Schedule: Varied Monday–Sunday
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Weekend: Every 3rd weekend
Holiday: Every 3rd holiday
EMR: Meditech

Requirements
Active Massachusetts RN license
BLS and ACLS required
PALS required within 6 months of hire
AS in Nursing required; BSN preferred
3–5 years of ED experience preferred
TNCC, ENPC, and CEN preferred
Responsibilities
Provide direct and indirect patient care in the Emergency Department.
Perform patient assessments, triage, and ongoing reassessments.
Develop and implement individualized plans of care.
Administer medications, IV therapy, anticoagulation, and critical drips.
Recognize cardiac arrhythmias and abnormal diagnostic results.
Care for intubated and critically ill patients, including airway management.
Respond appropriately to emergencies and patients requiring safety interventions.
Maintain accurate documentation and support continuity of care.
Work collaboratively with physicians and the healthcare team.
Provide patient/family education and assist with discharge planning.

Patterns Hiring Job ID #300002. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
