Description
MeadowWood Behavioral Health Hospital is seeking a Registered Dietitian for a 13-week travel assignment supporting behavioral health patients in an inpatient setting. This role is ideal for a dietitian with experience in mental health, eating disorders, substance use treatment, or clinical nutrition who is passionate about improving patient outcomes through individualized nutrition care.
The Dietitian will provide comprehensive nutritional assessments, counseling, education, and dietary planning while collaborating closely with physicians, nursing staff, and the interdisciplinary treatment team. This position plays a key role in supporting patients' overall health and recovery through evidence-based nutrition interventions.
Schedule:
• Day Shift
• 5 x 8-Hour Shifts Weekly
• 40 Guaranteed Hours
• Preferred Schedule: Sunday–Thursday or Tuesday–Saturday
• Monday–Friday may be considered
• Traditional Business Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• 13-Week Assignment
• Start Date: June 29, 2026
Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field
• Current Registered Dietitian Credential (RD/RDN)
• State licensure as required
• Experience in Behavioral Health preferred
• Experience with Eating Disorders strongly preferred
• Experience with Substance Use populations strongly preferred
• ServSafe Certification or equivalent food safety certification preferred
Responsibilities:
• Complete comprehensive nutritional assessments
• Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans
• Provide nutrition counseling and education to patients and families
• Approve patient menus and nutritional supplements
• Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings
• Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed
• Review and approve facility diet manuals and menus
• Consult with physicians and healthcare staff regarding nutrition needs
• Promote healthy eating habits and disease management strategies
• Ensure compliance with nutritional, safety, sanitation, and quality standards
