Respiratory Therapist | PICU

Saint Francis Health System – Yale Campus | Tulsa, OK | Sep 28 – Dec 26, 2026 | Nights | 7:00 PM–7:00 AM

Saint Francis Health System is seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist with strong Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) experience. This assignment supports a high-acuity pediatric environment and requires a therapist who is comfortable managing mechanical ventilation, airway procedures, and critical respiratory care.

Position Highlights:

Start Date: September 28, 2026
Contract: Sep 28 – Dec 26, 2026
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
Weekend: Every other weekend rotation
Facility: 20-bed PICU and 65-bed NICU
May float between pediatric and adult populations, as well as other units, based on facility needs.
Provide respiratory care to critical-care patients and respond to changing clinical conditions.
Manage invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation, including ventilator adjustments and monitoring patient response.
Respond to Code Blue, RIT/CRIT calls, and patient transports.
Perform airway and respiratory procedures including intubation, extubation, suctioning, and bronchoscopy assistance.
Provide aerosol and humidity therapy, nebulizer/MDI treatments, medical gas administration, PEP therapy, chest physiotherapy, and respiratory mechanics.
Accurately document respiratory care and patient response in the medical record.
Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years of recent staff experience in a large PICU
Minimum 1 year experience required
Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care program
CRT/RRT credential through NBRC
Valid Oklahoma Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license, or Oklahoma endorsement process already in progress
BLS through AHA required
PALS through AHA required
Strong mechanical ventilation and critical-care respiratory skills
Experience with intubation, extubation, suctioning, bronchoscopy assistance, and CPR
Strong communication, documentation, and critical-thinking skills
Basic computer skills required
Epic experience preferred; onsite training available
