Registered Nurse (RN) – Step Down Unit – Night Shift
Location: Port Huron, MI
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule: Nights, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
Shift Length: 12-hour shifts
Hours: 36 guaranteed hours per week
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its Step Down Unit. The RN will deliver nursing care within the assigned unit's scope of practice, following hospital policies, nursing process guidelines, and established standards of care.
The ideal candidate will have strong cardiac nursing skills, experience caring for step-down patients, and the flexibility to float to other units as required.
Responsibilities
Provide nursing care in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and professional standards.
Assess patient conditions, plan and implement nursing interventions, and evaluate patient responses.
Apply strong cardiac nursing knowledge and clinical judgment when caring for patients.
Monitor patient status and communicate changes to the appropriate healthcare team members.
Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support safe, effective patient care.
Float to other units as required by facility needs.
Required Qualifications
At least 2 years of Step Down nursing experience.
Strong cardiac nursing experience and proficiency.
Active Michigan RN license 
Current ACLS certification.
Current BLS certification.
