Position Overview

NuWest is seeking an experienced Cardiac Cath Lab RN for a 17-week travel contract at an outpatient surgery center in Florida. You will care for patients having diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures in a fast-paced ambulatory setting. The ideal candidate has strong cardiac assessment skills and stays calm under pressure. They are committed to patient safety and high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide pre-, intra-, and post-procedure nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and related procedures
• Assess patients before procedures, verify consents and orders, and complete safety checklists and time-outs
• Monitor hemodynamics, cardiac rhythms, and vital signs throughout procedures, and respond quickly to changes or emergencies
• Administer medications, sedation, and contrast as ordered, and monitor patients for reactions
• Assist physicians by preparing the procedure room, equipment, and supplies, and by supporting the sterile field as needed
• Manage access site care and monitor patients for complications during recovery
• Document nursing care, medications, and procedure details accurately in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families on procedures and discharge instructions, and follow infection control, safety, and HIPAA standards

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid for the duration of the assignment
• Cardiac Cath Lab nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Must not reside in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, or Monroe counties
• Must pass background check and drug screening
