**Educational/Experience Requirements** - Required: Current Iowa licensure as a Registered Nurse - Healthcare Provider BLS - ACLS, PALS, TNCC - Mandatory Abuse Reporter Certification - Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English well **Essential Functions** - Ability to maintain confidentiality; and both a high standard of courtesy and cooperation in dealing with co-workers, patients, and visitors, and satisfactory job performance despite the stress of a hospital work environment. - Provides the best possible nursing care by planning, organizing, and directing the nursing functions of patients on the unit, including giving direct patient care. - Administers medications and intravenous solutions skillfully and correctly. - Maintains the standards of accurate and complete recording and reporting. - Carries out nursing interventions safely and accurately utilizing knowledge, judgment and skill to implement physicians' orders and the nursing plan of care. - Demonstrates effective communication skills. - Supports and enforces infection control policies and procedures. - Is resourceful and calm in emergencies. - Participates in orientation and in-service training for personnel. - Works rotating shifts, weekends and holidays as scheduled.
