**Qualifications and Experience Requirements:** - **Required Certifications:** BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program). - **Experience or 'Must have' skills:** - Preferred: Level 3/4 ICU experience preferred, micro preemie care preferred. - **Licensure:** - Active Illinois (IL) license or confirmation that application process has been initiated. **Leadership and Clinical Environment:** - **Supervision and Support:** - Charge RN in NICU and NIC, only take patient assignments if staffing gaps. - Free transport RN available 24/7. - House supervisor available 24/7. - **Staffing:** - Nurse: Patient Ratios in NICU: 1:1-3; NIC: 1:3-4. - PCTs (Patient Care Technicians) are utilized; no specific ratio. **Skills and Responsibilities:** - **Clinical Skills:** - RNs are required to titrate drips as per orders. - **Equipment and Technology:** - Familiarity with conventional vents, oscillator ventilator, JET ventilator, CPAP, Nasal IMV, Heated High Flow, Tracheostomy. - Use of Phillips monitors for patient monitoring. - **Patient Care:** - Care for common diagnoses/types of patients, including 22 week and up gestation, abdominal defects, pre-cardiac repair, PPHN, CDH, and genetic defects. **Additional Information:** - **Education:** - BSN not required. - **Compliance:** - Understanding that OSF is a Drug-Free Campus and the ability to produce a negative drug screen for all panels. - **Work Schedule:** - 12-hour shifts, self-scheduling with block scheduling allowed, flexible night shifts. - Weekend and holiday coverage required as needed. - **Floating and Orientation:** - Travelers are first to float to different units. - 1-2 days of unit-specific orientation provided.
