Travel Nurse Job Details
- Location: Winston Salem, NC (27157) – North Carolina healthcare jobs
- Facility: Academic Medical Center, Med/Surg Unit (29 beds)
- Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract
- Start Date: September 29, 2025
- End Date: December 27, 2025
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts (6:30 PM – 6:30 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed (with the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week as needed)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1750–$1870/week
- Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
- Holiday Coverage: 75% of holidays required
- Scrub Color: Royal Blue

Med/Surg RN Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – North Carolina or compact state
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry (MST) experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Proficient in reading telemetry strips and providing clinical support
- Experience with direct and indirect patient care in a Med/Surg setting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage moderate to high stress levels
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Travel nursing experience is a plus, but not required
Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with general medicine, diabetes, GI, respiratory, renal, wounds, chest tubes, and tracheostomies
- Perform lab draws, PIV starts, and manage drains and tubes
- Administer and manage medications, including PCA pumps and IV drips (Amiodarone, Fentanyl, Ketamine, Heparin)
- Collaborate with CNAs, charge nurses, and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals
- Float to other Med/Surg units as needed within the hospital
- Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic EMR
- Promote a patient-centered, highly reliable, and team-oriented unit culture
