- Healthcare Setting: Surgical Services / Operating Room (OR)
- Nursing Shifts: Variable shifts: 8am–5pm (M-F), 3x12-hour shifts (7am–7:30pm or 7pm–7:30am), on-call night shifts
- Hours per Week: 36–40 hours (guaranteed 40 hours)
- Unit Size: 20 beds/rooms
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:1
- Dress Code: Scrubs provided
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- 2+ years of recent Operating Room RN experience
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program
- Active Alaska RN license
- Current BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR or CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer
- Current ACLS (American Heart Association)
- Moderate sedation and PACU experience preferred
- Proficient in computerized charting (Meditech)
OR RN Responsibilities
- Serve as Circulating Registered Nurse in the peri-operative setting for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and older adult patients
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical techs, and nursing staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain professional nursing standards and patient safety during surgical procedures
- Document patient care using computerized charting systems
- Train and mentor fellow nurses as needed
- Work variable shifts and fulfill on-call responsibilities
