PCU Travel Nurse Job Details
- Location: Columbus, OH 43210 (Ohio nursing jobs)
- Unit: 15 East – Acute Leukemia and Hematology (No Chemo Certification Required)
- Job Type: Travel Registered Nurse Contract (PCU RN)
- Shift: Night, 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Assignment Length: 16 weeks (Start: 12/1/2025 – End: 3/23/2026)
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,940 - $1,990
- Orientation: First week Mon-Fri dayshift; second week 36 hours on-unit with preceptor
- Self-Scheduling: Requests accommodated before finalizing schedule
- Weekend Coverage: Variable, based on unit needs
- Float Requirement: May float to other MedSurg Oncology units
PCU Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience in PCU, Progressive Care, or related specialty (PCU nurse jobs)
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Active compact or Ohio RN license required at time of submission
- Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- BLS and ACLS certifications required (American Heart Association preferred)
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record (EHR) system
- Two professional references required (one from a manager/director or formal leadership)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
PCU Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver specialized nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with acute leukemia and hematology diagnoses
- Administer blood products, IV antibiotics, and electrolyte therapies
- Implement infection prevention and patient fall protocols
- Perform telemetry monitoring and interpret cardiac dysrhythmias
- Manage central and peripheral lines, including PICC line care and blood draws
- Initiate and maintain IV therapy and perform phlebotomy
- Respond to rapid response team activations as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, etc.)
- Document patient care accurately using the EPIC charting system
- Float to other MedSurg Oncology units as required
