PCU Travel Nurse Job Details

Location: Ithaca, NY 14850 (New York nursing jobs)
Assignment Length: 13 weeks (March 3, 2025 – June 2, 2025)
Healthcare Setting: Prep & Recovery Unit (PCU)
Shift: Day shift – 4x10 hour shifts per week (must be 4x10s; 3x12s not accepted)
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,140 - $2,300
On-Call Requirement: Includes 1 weekend day (24-hour call) in a 6-week rotation, plus weekday call
Employment Type: Travel RN, W2

PCU Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (New York State or compact state)
Minimum 1 year of recent PCU, Progressive Care, or acute care nursing experience
BLS certification required
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Ability to work scheduled on-call shifts

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality patient care in the Prep & Recovery Unit (PCU)
Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in patient conditions
Administer medications and prescribed treatments
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes
Educate patients and families on care plans and recovery processes
Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation
Participate in required on-call rotation
