ICU RN Job Details
- Location: Dallas, TX 75230 (Texas healthcare jobs)
- Facility: Neuro-Vascular Intensive Care Unit (NVICU), Building E, Floor 7EE
- Unit Size: 16-bed ICU
- Staffing: 1 charge RN, 8 Registered Nurses per shift
- Patient Ratio: 2:1
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7P-7A)
- Weekly Hours: 36
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 11/4/2025, End: 2/3/2026)
- Dress Code: Royal Blue Scrubs
- Floating: May float to all ICUs, Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT), and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) floors
- Weekend Requirement: Minimum 4 weekends per schedule period
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active RN license (Texas or compact state)
- ACLS certification required
- At least 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience
- Proficiency with standard ICU equipment
- Experience with Meditech EMR preferred
- Oncology and Neuro ICU experience preferred
- Strong teamwork, accountability, and compassionate care skills
ICU Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality critical care nursing to patients in a 16-bed ICU
- Monitor and manage patient conditions with a 2:1 patient-to-nurse ratio
- Assist with procedures: central line and arterial line placement, intubation, and EVD care (core staff will care for EVD patients)
- Document patient care using Meditech EMR system
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes
- Float to other ICU, BMT, and PCU units as needed
- Ensure compliance with unit guidelines and hospital policies
