PCU Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Columbus, Ohio (43210) – Ohio nursing jobs
• Unit: 10 Rhodes Transplant (Abdominal Transplant Unit)
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
• Start Date: December 15, 2025
• End Date: March 16, 2026
• Duration: 13-week nursing contract
• Shift: 3x12 hour nights (19:00 - 07:30), weekdays with occasional weekends and rotating holidays
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Ratio: 1:4-5
• Setting: On-site, hospital-based clinical support

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing experience required
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – compact or Ohio state RN license required at time of submission
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (American Heart Association preferred)
• Experience with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Ability to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
• Two professional references required (at least one from a nurse manager, director, or formal leadership role)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients in the Progressive Care Unit, specializing in abdominal transplant (kidney, liver, pancreas) cases
• Monitor and manage patients with complex diagnoses including transplant recovery, infections, acute kidney injury, uncontrolled diabetes, hepatology, and GI bleeds
• Perform IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and central/peripheral line care
• Utilize Epic for accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology, and pharmacy
• Float to other nursing units within the hospital as needed
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and patient-centered environment for patients and families
