Med/Surg RN Job Details
- Location: Smyrna, TN 37167 (Greater Nashville area – Tennessee nursing jobs)
- Facility: Main Hospital – Medical-Surgical & Ortho/Spine Unit
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/1/2025 – End: 3/2/2026)
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour night shifts, 36 hours/week)
- Unit Size: 54 beds, including an 11-bed ortho/spine unit
- Flexible Scheduling: At least one weekend per 4-week period; blocked scheduling available
- Technology: Alaris pumps, remote telemetry, wound vacs, 12-lead EKG, Teletracking, MobiLab, Patient Keeper, Inspire App, Wound Capture
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,530 - $1,640
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Tennessee or compact state)
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience
- Strong clinical assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented healthcare environment
- Excellent punctuality, organization, and communication skills
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical, orthopedic, spine, trauma, and psych medical hold patients
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, monitor status, and respond to changes in condition
- Administer medications and treatments utilizing advanced hospital technology
- Collaborate with RN/LPN teams, patient care techs, and unit secretaries for optimal patient outcomes
- Document care and interventions accurately using Meditech EMR
- Float within the Med/Surg unit as needed and participate in flexible scheduling
- Promote a culture of teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement in healthcare delivery
