Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Smyrna, TN 37167 (Greater Nashville area – Tennessee nursing jobs)
• Facility: Main Hospital – Medical-Surgical & Ortho/Spine Unit
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/1/2025 – End: 3/2/2026)
• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour night shifts, 36 hours/week)
• Unit Size: 54 beds, including an 11-bed ortho/spine unit
• Flexible Scheduling: At least one weekend per 4-week period; blocked scheduling available
• Technology: Alaris pumps, remote telemetry, wound vacs, 12-lead EKG, Teletracking, MobiLab, Patient Keeper, Inspire App, Wound Capture
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,530 - $1,640

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Tennessee or compact state)
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience
• Strong clinical assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented healthcare environment
• Excellent punctuality, organization, and communication skills

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical, orthopedic, spine, trauma, and psych medical hold patients
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, monitor status, and respond to changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments utilizing advanced hospital technology
• Collaborate with RN/LPN teams, patient care techs, and unit secretaries for optimal patient outcomes
• Document care and interventions accurately using Meditech EMR
• Float within the Med/Surg unit as needed and participate in flexible scheduling
• Promote a culture of teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement in healthcare delivery
