Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

• Location: Cherokee, Iowa (51012) – Iowa nursing jobs
• Healthcare Setting: Acute Care – Labor & Delivery Unit (with float to MedSurg)
• Assignment Duration: 13-week travel nursing contract (Start: 11/16/2025 – End: 2/15/2026)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts, rotating; 1:3 weekend rotation
• Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
• Charting System: EpicCare Inpatient (Epic Systems Corporation)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2100-$2250

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Iowa or compact state
• Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Ability to float to MedSurg unit as needed
• Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

• Deliver expert patient care in the Labor & Delivery unit, supporting mothers through labor, delivery, and postpartum stages
• Monitor fetal and maternal health, administer medications, and assist with deliveries
• Float to Medical-Surgical (MedSurg) unit as required, providing high-quality clinical support
• Document patient care accurately using EpicCare EMR
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members
• Participate in a 1:3 weekend rotation
