Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: San Marcos, TX 78666 (Texas healthcare jobs)
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract (December 8, 2025 – March 8, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Schedule: Full-time, 36 hours/week; every other weekend required
• On-Call: No regular call; only on call with low census, limited to once every 2 weeks
• Unit: Cardiac Stepdown (IMC Med/Surg) – clinical support environment
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1360–$1460

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state
• BLS certification (American Heart Association required)
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association required)
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Cardiac Stepdown, Telemetry, or IMC nursing jobs
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Cardiac Stepdown unit, utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation)
• Administer medications and treatments according to clinical protocols; monitor for side effects and effectiveness
• Accurately document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of cardiac patients and their families
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on care plans and health management strategies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Delegate tasks appropriately and support the clinical nursing team
• Complete all required competency verifications and participate in ongoing professional development
