Travel RN Job Details

• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse, On-Site
• Unit: Labor & Delivery (L&D)
• Start Date: December 8, 2025
• End Date: March 9, 2026
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Coverage: Every third weekend required
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,880 - $2,020

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (charge nurse experience preferred)
• Active Kansas or compact state RN license (no pending licenses)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Experience with Centricity charting system preferred
• Community or critical access hospital experience preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination required (no exemptions)
• Ability to float to other hospital units as needed

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns, including high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and postpartum care
• Assist with sterile speculum exams, non-stress tests (NSTs), reflex checks, and sterile vaginal exams
• Utilize external and internal fetal monitoring, IV therapy, medication administration, and pain management techniques
• Manage labor & delivery cases, including forceps/vacuum deliveries, neonatal care, and surgical procedures (e.g., cervical cerclage)
• Support breastfeeding, lactation, and provide discharge education to parents; ensure infant identification and security
• Respond to obstetric emergencies such as postpartum hemorrhage, neonatal resuscitation, and abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation
