Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Dickson, TN 37055 – Experience Tennessee healthcare in a welcoming community near Nashville, with access to beautiful parks and small-town charm.
• Unit: Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg), 26 beds
• Assignment Type: Travel Nurse Contract
• Start Date: November 24, 2025
• End Date: February 16, 2026
• Duration: 12-week travel nursing assignment
• Hours per Week: 36
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Scheduling: Every other weekend required
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1530 - $1640

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Tennessee or compact state
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications
• At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• Strong teamwork, positive attitude, and excellent communication skills
• Effective time management and ability to float to other Med/Surg units
• Compliance with hospital dress code: Royal, Galaxy, Pewter Gray, or White scrubs

Med/Surg Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care to medical-surgical patients in a 26-bed unit
• Maintain safe patient ratios (1:6 or team nursing up to 1:9)
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including charge nurses, unit secretaries, and patient care technicians (PCTs)
• Operate Alaris IV pumps and document care using Meditech EMR
• Perform hourly purposeful rounds and participate in bedside shift reports
• Enhance patient experience through AIDET communication standards
• Follow all unit guidelines, hospital policies, and procedures
