CVICU Travel Nurse Job Details
- Location: Salem, Oregon (Zip: 97301) – Explore the vibrant capital city, scenic parks, thriving arts scene, and the beautiful Willamette Valley.
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: January 5, 2026 (or later)
- Shifts: 12-hour nights (19:00 – 07:30), 36 hours per week
- Unit: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) – 30 beds (18 CVICU, 12 CVIMCU)
- Employment Type: Travel nursing job
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1860 - $2000
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience, with a strong cardiovascular background
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Oregon RN license not required at submission; pending is acceptable)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Epic EMR charting experience required
- Telemetry skills required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- CCRN certification preferred
CVICU RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients with complex cardiac diagnoses, including post-cardiac surgery, heart failure, arrhythmias, and advanced cardiac interventions
- Manage and monitor patients requiring advanced therapies such as IABP, Impella, CRRT, and ventricular assist devices
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide comprehensive patient care and participate in daily rounds
- Float between CVICU and CVIMCU as needed, and to affiliate hospitals within the Oregon health system
- Perform and assist with specialized procedures, including arterial and central line management, ventilator management, and post-cardiac surgery care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic EMR
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities
