Travel Nurse Job Details

• Position: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nurse
• Location: Milwaukee, WI 53215 (Wisconsin nursing jobs)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (3 shifts per week)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Employment Type: Travel, On-Site
• Start Date: December 8, 2025
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1760 - $1890

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Wisconsin or compact state)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required prior to first shift
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required prior to first shift
• Minimum of 2 years of recent bedside clinical experience in Med/Surg or related specialties
• Experience in medical-surgical nursing, acute care, or hospital settings preferred

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized patient care plans
• Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to patients in a medical-surgical unit
• Supervise and guide Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and new staff
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes in electronic health records
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams and participate in patient rehabilitation programs
• Initiate discharge planning and provide patient/family education from admission
• Promote patient and staff safety by following hospital policies and safety protocols
• Maintain effective communication with physicians, charge nurses, and healthcare providers
• Support a positive team environment and participate in unit team-building activities
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation
• Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education for nurses
