Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Dickson, Tennessee (37055) – Tennessee nursing jobs
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel contract
• Start Date: January 12, 2026
• End Date: April 13, 2026
• Unit: Medical Surgical (Med/Surg), 26 beds
• Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (12-hour day shifts)
• Hours per Week: 36 hours
• Scheduling: Every other weekend required
• Dress Code: Royal, Galaxy, Pewter Gray, or White scrubs

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Tennessee or compact state
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• Strong teamwork, positive attitude, and excellent communication skills
• Proficient time management abilities
• Experience with Meditech documentation system preferred

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to a diverse medical-surgical patient population
• Manage patient ratios of 1:6 or team nursing up to 1:9
• Collaborate with charge nurses, unit secretaries, and patient care technicians
• Utilize Alaris IV pumps and adhere to unit protocols
• Conduct hourly purposeful rounds and participate in bedside shift reports
• Float to other Med/Surg units as needed
• Maintain hospital standards for patient experience, including AIDET communication
