Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: 12/10/2025 (weekly Wednesday starts available)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 – 07:15)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Healthcare Setting: 32-bed Medical/Surgical Unit
• Charting System: Cerner
• Scrub Color: Navy blue

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state
• At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience
• BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
• Ability to float to Orthopedics, Comprehensive Medical Unit, Oncology, and Accountability Care Unit as needed
• Strong clinical skills, adaptability, and teamwork

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional nursing care to patients with diverse diagnoses, including DKA, pneumonia, COPD, diabetic ulcers, appendicitis, cellulitis, pancreatitis, osteomyelitis, unknown fevers, and flu
• Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of up to 1:6
• Perform specialized procedures: NGT insertions, PICC line management, dressing changes, and wound vacs
• Accurately document patient care using Cerner EMR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Float to support additional clinical units as required
