Med/Surg RN Job Details

Location: Petoskey, MI 49770 (Northern Michigan healthcare jobs)
Unit: 2 South Medical Surgical Unit (28 beds)
Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
Start Date: December 15, 2025
End Date: March 16, 2026
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour day shifts
Hours per Week: 36
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1610–$1730

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license (LARA and Nursys verification required)
BLS certification (AHA) – required for all Michigan RN jobs
Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience
Travel nursing experience highly preferred
Completion of a nursing skills checklist within one year of application
Strong communication and time management skills

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
Deliver high-quality, evidence-based, and holistic nursing care to surgical, trauma, and stroke patients
Provide clinical support and patient education throughout the care continuum
Participate in discharge planning and patient/family education
Demonstrate leadership and serve as a clinical resource for the nursing team
Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
Adhere to attendance and punctuality policies to ensure optimal patient care
Engage in ongoing professional development and shared governance initiatives
