Med/Surg RN Job Details
- Location: Petoskey, MI 49770 (Northern Michigan healthcare jobs)
- Unit: 2 South Medical Surgical Unit (28 beds)
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
- Start Date: December 15, 2025
- End Date: March 16, 2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1610–$1730
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license (LARA and Nursys verification required)
- BLS certification (AHA) – required for all Michigan RN jobs
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience
- Travel nursing experience highly preferred
- Completion of a nursing skills checklist within one year of application
- Strong communication and time management skills
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based, and holistic nursing care to surgical, trauma, and stroke patients
- Provide clinical support and patient education throughout the care continuum
- Participate in discharge planning and patient/family education
- Demonstrate leadership and serve as a clinical resource for the nursing team
- Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Adhere to attendance and punctuality policies to ensure optimal patient care
- Engage in ongoing professional development and shared governance initiatives
