Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Meridian, Idaho (83642) – Idaho nursing jobs
• Facility Setting: Acute Care, Medical Surgical (Med/Surg), 5th Floor
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 11/29/2025, End: 2/28/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36 hours guaranteed
• Weekend Requirement: 5 weekend shifts per 6-week period
• Floating: May float between MedSurg 5, MedSurg 6, overflow unit, and similar units at nearby healthcare facilities
• Dress Code: Any color scrubs (clean and professional)
• Orientation: 3 days general orientation (including EPIC EMR training), 2 unit shifts with preceptor
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1780 - $1910

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• BLS certification (Basic Life Support)
• EKG certification
• Minimum 2 years of recent medical-surgical nursing experience
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Willingness to precept new travel nurses and work with nursing students
• Ability to float to similar Med/Surg units as needed
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care to orthopedic, urology, general surgery, GYN, and medical overflow patients
• Manage nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5 (occasionally 1:6)
• Independently monitor and interpret telemetry strips
• Administer medications and manage set-rate drips (heparin, PCAs, morphine drips)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members, including charge nurses, nurse aides, and virtual tele techs
• Mentor and support nursing students and new travel nurses
• Float to other medical-surgical units or similar healthcare settings within the health system as required
• Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC EMR
