Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Portland, Oregon (Zip: 97239) – Premier destination for Oregon nursing jobs and outdoor enthusiasts
• Assignment Type: Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)
• Start Date: January 13, 2026 (Tuesday starts; weekly start dates available)
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (ends April 14, 2026)
• Shifts: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (17:00–05:30 or 19:00–07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1930 - $2070
• Patient Ratios: 1:3–4
• Weekend Coverage: Required
• Charting System: EPIC (EPIC experience required)
• Scrubs: Provided for OR
• Parking: On-site, $16 daily

ER RN Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room nursing experience (3 years preferred)
• Travel nursing experience required (1 year if recent EPIC experience)
• Experience in Level I or II Trauma Centers required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (required); TNCC (preferred); NIHSS
• Active Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) license or pending application (must be submitted and received by licensing board)
• Professional nursing references required
• Ability to float within hospital units as needed
• No first-time travelers accepted
• Locals accepted for Portland nursing jobs
• Maximum 1 week of requested time off
• Compliance documentation due one week prior to start; labs within 48 hours of signing
• No background or license hits accepted

Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and coordinate emergency interventions in a high-acuity ER setting
• Deliver care for trauma, acute stroke, STEMI, psychosis, sepsis, and complex emergencies
• Perform advanced procedures: moderate/deep sedation, intubation, cardioversion, D&C, sexual assault exams, CPR, and imminent deliveries
• Administer blood products, manage central lines, chest tubes, and ventilated patients
• Interpret ABGs, dysrhythmias, and perform 12-lead EKG/ECG
• Manage multisystem organ dysfunction/failure and violent behavior
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, social services, and more
• Float to other hospital units as needed
