Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Richmond, VA 23226 (Virginia nursing jobs)
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (L&D RN)
• Start Date: December 15, 2025
• End Date: March 14, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Hours per Week: 36
• Shift: 12-hour days; every other weekend and major holidays required
• On Call: 1-2 shifts every 6 weeks
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1990 - $2130
• Setting: Labor & Delivery, Women's Health, OBGYN unit
• Unit Details: 11 Labor Rooms, 2 OBs, 2 ORs, 3 OB ED (Triage), 12 Antepartum/Women's OBGYN unit; average 200 deliveries/month
• Note: No local candidates (must reside outside a 50-mile radius of Richmond)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license in Virginia or compact state (required for travel nurse jobs)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (required)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification (required or must obtain within 6 months)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification (preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience in a high-acuity hospital (required)
• Fetal monitoring experience required; certification preferred
• Circulating experience required; scrub experience preferred
• Ability to float within Women's Health and OBGYN units as needed
• EPIC Electronic Health Record experience (preferred)

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care for women and newborns in a family-centered clinical environment
• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments; develop individualized care plans
• Monitor fetal and maternal status, interpret fetal monitoring, and respond to changes in patient condition
• Assist with vaginal and C-section deliveries, versions, and cerclages
• Circulate and/or scrub for labor and delivery procedures
• Educate and support patients and families on childbirth, postpartum care, and breastfeeding
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient safety and quality standards
• Float to other Women's Health and OBGYN units as required
