Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
- Active New Mexico RN license or valid Compact state RN license (required for New Mexico nursing jobs)
- BLS Certification (American Heart Association) required
- ACLS Certification (American Heart Association) required
- Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room RN experience
- Strong communication, clinical, and teamwork skills
- Ability to adapt to schedule changes and manage emergency situations in a fast-paced OR environment
Operating Room RN Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver patient care in the Operating Room, ensuring safety and quality standards for all surgical patients
- Provide age-appropriate, evidence-based care according to clinical protocols
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate nursing documentation and communicate effectively with patients, families, and clinical staff
- Demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and respect in all patient interactions
- Follow infection control and safety guidelines in the OR setting
- Assist with positioning, transferring, and preparing patients and surgical equipment
