Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details

• Assignment Type: Travel Nursing – Cardiac Stepdown RN
• Location: Morgantown, West Virginia 26506 (West Virginia nursing jobs)
• Start Date: January 5, 2026
• End Date: April 6, 2026
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Unit: 8 North East (8NE) – 24-bed private stepdown unit
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), weekends and holiday rotation required
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,880 – $2,020
• Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs
• Charting System: EPIC (EMR experience required)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license in West Virginia or compact state (or willingness to obtain for travel nursing jobs)
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience (stepdown, cardiac, trauma, or med/surg preferred)
• BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association required)
• Strong clinical assessment skills and adaptability in a fast-paced healthcare environment
• Experience titrating cardiac drips (cardizem, labetalol, amiodarone, etc.)
• Basic EKG interpretation skills
• EPIC charting experience required
• Ability to work weekends and participate in holiday rotations
• Driver’s license address must be outside 50 miles from Morgantown facility (per travel nurse requirements)

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to trauma, cardiac, and complex medical/surgical patients in a stepdown unit
• Monitor and manage patients requiring continuous hemodynamic monitoring
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips as ordered by physicians
• Collaborate with clinical associates, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Interpret EKGs and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Utilize advanced respiratory equipment (BiPAP, CPAP, chronic ventilators)
• Support early patient mobilization using in-ceiling lifts
• Float to other hospital units as needed per rotational assignments
• Accurately document patient care using the EPIC charting system
