Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Kalamazoo, Michigan 49048 (Michigan nursing jobs)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 12/29/2025 – End: 3/30/2026)
• Unit: Cardiac Stepdown / Intermediate Care (22 beds)
• Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:30)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1890 – $1940
• Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue
• Charting System: Cerner Powerchart
• Floating: As needed to similar stepdown units or affiliate hospitals
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holiday required
• COVID-19 & Flu Vaccines: Required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Cardiac Stepdown or ICU nursing (first-time travel nurses welcome)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan or willingness to participate in Michigan licensure project
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (CPI preferred; pending certifications accepted)
• Experience with Cerner charting system required
• Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (no local candidates)
• Ability to complete up to 8 hours of pre-start modules
• Strong professional conduct and commitment to quality patient care in a clinical setting

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a 22-bed cardiac stepdown unit
• Monitor and manage cardiac drips, telemetry, and post-surgical cardiac recovery for cardiac patients
• Administer blood products, manage central and peripheral lines, and respond to rapid response/code situations
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
• Float to similar stepdown units or affiliate hospitals as needed based on census and staffing needs
• Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner Powerchart and uphold facility policies and nursing standards
