Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or compact state
Minimum 1 year of recent experience as an Emergency Room RN or in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting
BLS certification (AHA) required
ACLS certification preferred
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
Ability to excel in a high-acuity, fast-paced healthcare environment

ER RN Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care in the ER holding/transition area at PCU level
Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment
Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes
Administer medications, treatments, and nursing interventions as ordered
Educate patients and families on care plans, discharge instructions, and health management
Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive clinical environment for patients and staff
