Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or compact state
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience as an Emergency Room RN or in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting
- BLS certification (AHA) required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Ability to excel in a high-acuity, fast-paced healthcare environment
ER RN Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the ER holding/transition area at PCU level
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes
- Administer medications, treatments, and nursing interventions as ordered
- Educate patients and families on care plans, discharge instructions, and health management
- Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive clinical environment for patients and staff
