Travel Nurse Job Details
- Location: North Charleston, SC 29406 (South Carolina nursing jobs)
- Facility Setting: Ambulatory 23-Hour Observation Unit
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: Jan 5, 2026 – End: Apr 6, 2026)
- Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (17:00 – 05:30), Monday–Thursday
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1420–$1530
- Patient Population: Adults & Pediatrics
- Charting System: Epic
- Scrub Color: Royal or Navy Blue
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active South Carolina or Compact RN license (required prior to start)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Cardiac Stepdown or Observation Unit RN experience
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS (required)
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Proficiency with Epic charting system
- Preferred: Charge nurse experience, trauma level I/II, and community hospital background
- Ability to float to sister facilities (Downtown, Main, West Campus) as needed
- Radius rule: Must reside outside a 60-mile radius unless approved as local
RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and pediatric patients in a 23-hour observation unit
- Monitor cardiac patients, assess changes in condition, and respond promptly
- Administer medications, perform patient assessments, and document care using Epic
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including pharmacy and patient care technicians
- Perform clinical procedures: EKGs, venipuncture, IV infusions, Foley catheter management
- Educate patients and families on cardiac health, conditions, and post-discharge care
- Maintain universal precautions and ensure patient safety at all times
- Float to affiliated healthcare facilities within scope as needed
