ICU RN Travel Job Details

• Location: Independence, Missouri (zip 64057) – Kansas City metro area
• Facility Setting: Progressive Care Unit, Main Hospital
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: January 5, 2026 – End: April 6, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1610 - $1730
• Number of Beds: 36
• Patient Ratios: 1:3 or 1:4 (AM), 1:4 or 1:5 (PM, with techs)
• EMR System: Meditech
• Dress Code: Charcoal grey scrub tops with charcoal grey or black scrub bottoms

ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Missouri or compact state
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience
• Strong assessment, clinical, and critical thinking skills
• Proven experience managing vasoactive drips
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Positive attitude and commitment to patient-centered care

ICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU/Progressive Care Unit
• Assist with and perform procedures such as central line or PICC line placement and chest tube placements
• Operate and monitor equipment including BiPAP, heated high-flow nasal cannulas, Alaris IV pumps, and Kangaroo feeding pumps
• Accurately document patient care and interventions using Meditech EMR
• Participate in bedside shift reports, hourly rounding, and daily leadership rounds
• Float to the Telemetry Unit as needed to support patient care
• Comply with unit guidelines, hospital policies, and best practices in critical care nursing
