Homecare RN Job Details

• Location: New Port Richey, Florida (34654)
• Assignment Type: Travel Nursing
• Healthcare Setting: Home Health
• Start Date: January 12, 2026
• End Date: June 1, 2026
• Contract Duration: 20 weeks
• Nursing Shift: Day shifts, 8-hour shifts (varied start times between 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Weekend Coverage: Alternating weekends required
• Home Visits per Day: 6–8

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida or compact state
• Minimum 1 year of skilled home health nursing experience (private duty only experience not accepted)
• OASIS training and experience required
• Current BCLS certification
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for home visits
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions accepted with documentation)
• Flu vaccination required or declination with mandatory mask use
• Recent patient care experience within the last 3 months
• Strong IV and phlebotomy skills
• Ability to self-schedule visits and hours based on office needs
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility

Home Health RN Responsibilities

• Deliver skilled nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in their homes
• Conduct comprehensive cardiopulmonary assessments and wound care (including wound vac and compression dressings)
• Manage IV therapy, PICC line or midline care, and SQ port access/deaccess
• Administer SQ/IM injections, perform lab draws and venipuncture
• Care for high-risk diagnoses: heart failure, COPD, MI, pneumonia, stroke, and post-op patients
• Change and care for foley catheters, remove staples/sutures, and utilize glucometers and pro-time machines
• Document all care using BayCare forms and scheduling systems (laptop, MiFi, and portable printer provided)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members including physical therapy, social services, and pharmacy
• Float to nearby affiliate healthcare locations as needed
