Med/Surg RN Job Details – Cambridge, MA
- Location: Cambridge, MA 02139 (Massachusetts nursing jobs)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: January 6, 2026 – End: April 4, 2026)
- Unit: Med/Surg 4 West (Medical Surgical Unit)
- Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 3 shifts per week (36 hours/week guaranteed)
- Employment Type: Travel RN, On-Site
- Open Positions: 2
- Scrub Color: Any color
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2140-$2290
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Active Massachusetts RN license (verified via NURSYS)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg and Telemetry nursing experience
- Current AHA BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
- Proficiency in acute care and telemetry monitoring
- Charge nurse capability highly preferred
- Experience with EMR systems (EPIC preferred)
- Flu vaccine required during flu season
- Willingness to float to other units as needed
- Must be available to work every other major holiday
- Up-to-date nursing resume and two recent references from Med/Surg or Telemetry Charge RN/Manager/Supervisor
- Completed skills checklist matching Med/Surg specialty
- Valid driver’s license with address matching application demographics
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with conditions such as alcohol abuse, COPD, diabetes, CHF, sepsis, and pneumonia
- Administer medications including antibiotics, anticoagulants, blood products, Lasix, and Amiodarone
- Operate medical equipment such as Pyxis, Zebra scanners, bladder scanners, dopplers, and other clinical devices
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Float to other medical units as required
- Participate in hospital and unit orientation, including two shifts with a preceptor
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR (EPIC)
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced hospital environment
