Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Colchester, VT 05446 (Vermont healthcare jobs)
• Assignment Length: 16 weeks (12/15/2025 – 4/6/2026)
• Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Setting: Home Health & Hospice Nursing
• Shift: Day Shift, 4x10-Hour Days (07:00 – 17:30)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,570 - $2,760
• On-Site Position

RN Qualifications and Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Vermont or compact state)
• American Heart Association BLS certification required
• Minimum of 3 years prior community hospice nursing experience
• Epic EMR experience required
• Strong typing and documentation skills (narrative-heavy EMR)
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemption for flu only)
• Reliable personal or rental vehicle required (no public transportation access)
• All-season or snow tires required November–April (Vermont travel nursing safety)
• Must be willing to work 2 out of 4 major holidays if scheduled (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year's Day)
• Previous travel nursing experience required (no first-time travelers)

Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate hospice and end-of-life care in patients' homes throughout Colchester, VT
• Perform complex symptom assessment and management for hospice patients
• Educate patients and families on symptom management, care planning, and hospice services
• Lead and participate in goals of care discussions with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Administer medications via IV, subcutaneous, oral, sublingual, rectal, and other routes as needed
• Document all care thoroughly and accurately in a narrative-heavy EMR system (Epic)
• Provide occasional on-call coverage as needed
• Collaborate with the hospice and home health team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care
