• Location: La Plata, MD 20646 (Southern Maryland)
• Healthcare Setting: Emergency Department (ED), Community Hospital
• Contract Length: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Start Date: January 26, 2026
• Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1870 - $2000
• Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Average Daily Census: 130 patients
• Number of Beds: 47
• Weekend/Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and holidays as scheduled
• Floating: Required within ER specialty

ER Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room RN experience (2 years preferred for travel nurse roles)
• Active Maryland or Compact Registered Nurse license
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI (AHA only for BLS/ACLS/PALS)
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred
• Community hospital nursing experience required
• Ability to float within hospital as needed
• Must provide 2 professional references (1 supervisor/manager and 1 charge RN)
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Local candidates must reside at least 50 miles from facility

ER RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
• Perform triage, assessment, and emergency interventions for trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and behavioral health emergencies
• Administer emergency medications and manage acute situations (STEMI, stroke, seizures, drug overdose)
• Utilize specialized equipment: ultrasound, Hoyer lift, Comfort Glide, transvenous pacemaker, pacer interrogator
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services)
• Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EHR (preferred)
• Float to other ER units within specialty as needed
• Participate in ongoing nursing education and compliance modules
