• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (06:45 - 19:15)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1400-$1500
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Charting System: Epic
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: Yes, to other units as needed
• COVID-19 Vaccine: Required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Ability to pass EKG strip test at orientation
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred
• Two professional references (one from a direct supervisor or manager)
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off during assignment

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide direct, patient-centered care to medical-surgical patients
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and progress using Epic
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias; participate in rapid response and code teams
• Deliver oxygen therapy and non-invasive airway management
• Care for peripheral lines and manage nasal cannula
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Float to other hospital units as needed
• Work every other weekend as scheduled
