Home Health Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Contract – Virginia Beach & Norfolk, VA

Home Health RN Job Details

• Location: Virginia Beach and Norfolk, Virginia
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,120–$2,230
• Contract Dates: October 26, 2026–January 29, 2027
• Contract Duration: Approximately 14 weeks
• Openings: 2
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; five 8-hour shifts per week
• Weekly Hours: 40 hours guaranteed
• On-Call Requirement: One weekday each week and every fourth weekend
• Healthcare Setting: Home health and in-home skilled nursing
• Shift Duration: 8 hours
• Additional Information: Mileage between patient visits is reimbursed according to assignment guidelines

Travel Nurse and Home Health RN Requirements

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 1 year of professional nursing experience, including home health nursing experience
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
• Strong clinical judgment, organization, communication, and time-management skills
• Ability to provide independent patient care in home settings and travel throughout assigned coverage areas
• Homecare Homebase experience preferred
• Professional scrubs in any color

Home Health Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive admissions and initial patient assessments in the home setting
• Perform routine skilled nursing visits and develop individualized care plans based on patient needs
• Manage patient discharges, recertifications, and ongoing clinical documentation
• Provide wound care, including wound VAC management
• Collect and process ordered laboratory specimens
• Provide Foley catheter care and other skilled nursing interventions
• Educate patients and caregivers about medications, treatments, disease management, and safety
• Support medication education and management while monitoring patient response
• Communicate changes in patient condition to the appropriate members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Participate in the assigned weekday and weekend home health on-call rotation
