Work Type: Full Time
Shift:Shift 1/6:00:00 AM to 6:00:00 PM / Will be required to work every other weekend
Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate:$21.01 - $24.69 / hour

Summary
The Blood Center Technician/CDL Driver is responsible for drawing blood from volunteer blood donors and driving all blood mobiles including the vehicles requiring a CDL license to operate. Duties include interacting with prospective donors, providing information about blood donation, screening donors by conducting a mini-physical and a medical history interview, drawing blood according to specific procedures, and administering post-donation care. Completes detailed documents and records pertaining to the donation. Drives the bloodmobiles to blood drives and maintains appropriate vehicle logs. Performs daily quality control for each drive site. Other duties include preparing work areas and bloodmobile for blood collection and restocking supplies. Clerical duties include registration of donor cards, phone reception, and operation of office equipment such as fax machines, copy machines, and printers, in addition to basic computer skills in the Blood Bank computer system. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Three months of phlebotomy experience.
Certification: American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS).
License: CDL Drivers License with no infractions.
Other: Good communication and interpersonal skills are required. Excellent customer service skill, ability multi-task, problem solve, and work independently. Basic knowledge of computer, data entry and retrieval.
