About this Position:

HealthPark Medical Center is an approximately 400-bed acute care hospital and a leading Lee Health facility providing specialized cardiovascular care, comprehensive womens and childrens services, and advanced rehabilitation programs. It is home to the Shipley Cardiothoracic Center, a regional leader in heart and lung care, and is highly recognized for excellence in stroke care, orthopedics, and intensive care services. Located on the same HealthPark campus and physically connected to Golisano Childrens Hospital of Southwest Florida, it supports seamless pediatric-to-adult care across the continuum.

As a Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for examining, evaluating and testing individuals with mechanical, physiological and developmental impairments, functional limitations, and disabilities or other health and movement-related conditions in order to determine a diagnosis, prognosis and plan of treatment intervention, and assess the ongoing effects of intervention. The PT is also responsible for alleviating impairments, functional limitations and disabilities by designing, implementing and modifying treatment interventions. Additional responsibilities include reducing the risk of injury, impairment, functional limitation and disability, as well as, the promotion and maintenance of fitness, health and wellness in populations of all ages. The PT is engaged in administration, consultation, education and research. The PT is expected to conduct themselves in an effective professional behavior manner. The attributes, characteristics or behaviors required for success in this job include: critical thinking, communication, problem solving, interpersonal skills, responsibility, professionalism, use of constructive feedback, effective use of time and resources, stress management, and commitment to learning.

Our Rehabilitation Services team is one of the largest and most dynamic in the region. With over 700 skilled professionals dedicated to helping patients regain strength, mobility, and independence through comprehensive, compassionate care. Our licensed physical, occupational, and speech therapists work closely with medical teams to create individualized treatment plans tailored to each patients unique needs. Beyond core therapy services, we offer a variety ofspecialty programsincluding neurological rehabilitation, vestibular and balance therapy, lymphedema management, pelvic health therapy, and oncology rehabilitation. With services spanningacute care, skilled nursing, home health, and outpatient settings, our team delivers exceptional, evidence-based care that restores function and enhances quality of life.

As part of a collaborative acute care team, youll work alongside physicians, nurses, and other rehabilitation professionals to provide evidence-based care that supports safe discharge planning and improved patient outcomes.
  • How many patients will I see each day? Patient caseloads vary based on unit assignment, patient complexity, and individual treatment needs. Our focus is on providing safe, high-quality care while allowing clinicians the time needed to complete thorough evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, and support meaningful functional outcomes.
  • What patient populations will I work with? Youll work with adult patients across a diverse acute care population, including neurological conditions, stroke, cardiovascular conditions, respiratory diagnoses, oncology, orthopedic conditions, post-surgical recovery, and other complex medical conditions. Youll help patients improve mobility, balance, strength, and independence while preparing them for the next level of care.
