Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Travel/Contract Position
Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Important Job Details
- Hurricane Season: Position is in a hurricane-prone area. The 2025 hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30, but storms can occur outside this window.
- Emergency Team: Upon starting, you may be assigned to an Emergency Team with expectations to stay onsite during storms or be part of relief efforts. Candidates uncomfortable with this should not apply during hurricane season.
- Shift: Standard hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Flexibility required for earlier or later procedures to meet patient care needs.
- Call Schedule: Call is divided equally among team members, typically two nights per week and every other weekend, including after-hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Weekend Call: On-call from close of business Friday until department opens Monday morning. Must be able to arrive within 30 minutes of notification.
- Floating: May be asked to assist between Interventional Radiology (IR) and Cardiac Cath Lab as needed.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required. First-time travelers will not be accepted.
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or RQI accepted
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or RQI accepted
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- Louisiana State License (active LA License or Compact License required)
Compliance and Documentation
- Identification: Current, valid driver's license or government photo ID (color copy required).
- Background Checks:
- 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, Sex Offender Search, and Education Verification as applicable
- Health Documents:
- Physical exam within 12 months indicating good health
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
- Immunizations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Tdap vaccine required for select departments
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Apr 30)
- Fit Mask Testing: Annual fit testing required; can be completed onsite if needed.
- Photo for Badge: Full-color, passport-style photo taken within last 6 months required within 24 hours of booking.
Additional Notes
- Candidates must be prepared for potential extended onsite presence during hurricanes.
- Flexibility and teamwork between IR and Cardiac Cath Lab are essential.
- All certifications must be current or renewed prior to start date if expiring within 30 days.
- Skills checklist and employment application required, including 7 years of employment history and explanation of any gaps.
This position is ideal for experienced Radiology/Cardiology professionals comfortable working in a dynamic environment with potential emergency responsibilities during hurricane season.
