Registered Nurse - Oncology
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Unit: Oncology/Women’s Surgical
- Number of Beds: 24
- Staff per Shift:
- Day: 1 CNC, 4-6 RNs, 2 CNAs, 1 HUC
- Night: 1 CNC, 4-6 RNs, 2 CNAs
- Patient Ratios: 1:4 or 1:5
- Equipment: Standard unit equipment
- EMR System: Cerner
Job Description
- Typical procedures: Occasional pelvic exams, echo, thoracentesis
- Floating: Rarely floats; may float to other med-surg units
- Dress Code:
- RNs: Navy, white, or combination of both
- CNAs: Galaxy Blue
- Weekend Requirement: Staff required to work 6 weekend days per schedule
- On Call: Rare
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Oncology nursing experience (minimum 2 years), including experience within the last year
- BLS certification
- De-escalation skills in healthcare settings
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
