Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist
Location: Greenville, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Summary
Seeking a Respiratory Therapist with at least 2 years of experience, specializing in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics. The role involves working primarily with adult and geriatric patient populations in critical care settings.
Work Schedule
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Floating: May be required to float to other units or campuses where qualified
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including experience within the last year
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in South Carolina
- Experience working with adult patients
- Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
- Experience in an acute care setting
- Skilled in extubation and oral airway placement
- Experienced in administering racemic epinephrine
- Proficient in delivering medication through aerosol setup trach and Medihaler
- Experience with T-piece and trach collar nebulizers
- Experience with EPIC charting system
- Required Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
Licensure & Certifications
- Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license for South Carolina required (no pending licenses accepted)
- Required Certifications:

Additional Requirements
- Accepts first-time travelers
- Must comply with facility call-off policy (allowed 1 shift off per 2 weeks)
- Must submit all scheduling requests at time of application
- Must meet radius rule for local candidates
Compliance & Documentation
Candidates must provide and maintain the following:
- Proof of identity and eligibility to work
- Background checks including 7-year history and various federal/state screenings
- Drug screening within 1 year, updated annually
- Immunizations and health documents including:
- Physical exam within 1 year
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days
- Required vaccinations or proof of immunity (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption
- Completion of required online orientation modules and pass/fail testing prior to start
- Annual competencies and training including medication/pharmacology exams and core safety training
Notes
- Respirator fit testing will be completed onsite during orientation
- Floating is limited to qualified areas with documented competencies
- Badge photo required prior to start
- Online modules must be completed within 72 hours of assignment
- Pass/fail testing includes medication and arrhythmia exams with strict completion guidelines
