Unit Information
- Patient Diagnoses: Multi-trauma, seizure, gunshot wounds (GSW), falls, traumatic brain injury (TBI), stroke, sepsis, psychiatric conditions, epidural hematomas, epidural hemorrhage, cerebral edema, orthopedic-related trauma (non-elective), encephalopathy.
- Unit Type: Major Trauma Unit
- Special Procedures: Craniotomy, spinal fusions, open reduction internal fixation (ORIF), muscle flaps, skin grafts, above-knee amputation (AKA), below-knee amputation (BKA), intramedullary nails, external fixators, spinal stimulators.
- Float Requirement: May be required to float to other inpatient units.
- Scheduling: Specific scheduling requests (e.g., block scheduling) cannot be guaranteed.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Louisiana
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Med Surg (1 year of experience)
- Med Surg experience within the last year
- Experience in neuro surgery
- Neurosurgery experience
Contract Length
- 13 weeks

Documentation Requirements:
- Valid driver's license or state ID (color copy required).
- Various certifications may be required based on unit description.
- Background checks, health documents, and other compliance requirements must be completed prior to start.
Health Requirements:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray.
- Vaccinations (e.g., COVID-19, flu, Tdap, etc.) must be current.
- Drug screening required.
Background Check:
- A 7-year criminal background check is required.
